Waqas Effendi
As a Recruiting Manager at Spectrum Careers, Waqas specializes in accounting and finance, bringing over a decade of experience in talent management, business development, and organizational growth. His consultative approach has fostered lasting relationships with both new and long-standing clients. With expertise in project-based consulting and staff augmentation, he focuses on serving the not-for-profit, healthcare, and professional services sectors.
Before joining Spectrum Careers, Waqas spent nine years as Director & Vice President at Robert Half International’s consulting practice, where he worked with mid-to-senior-level accounting and finance professionals across the Washington, DC metropolitan area. As a top performer, he played a pivotal role in making the practice one of the Top 3 highest-performing in the country and earned multiple “Million-Dollar Milestone” awards.
Originally from Northern Virginia, Waqas moved to London, England after high school to pursue higher education. He earned a Bachelor’s in Accounting, an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) certification, and an MBA from Cardiff University—all while gaining hands-on experience in public accounting, specializing in audit and outsourced accounting.
Outside of work, Waqas has a passion for international travel, having explored over 25 countries. When he’s not at his desk, you’ll likely find him at the gym, pushing his personal bests in powerlifting.
